Last updated: April 2026. We wrote this in plain language because you shouldn't need a law degree to understand how your data is handled.
Who we are
Bundle of Joy is an AI baby name curator built in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company behind it is Bundle of Joy ApS, founded by Elsa and Aksel Lindqvist. When we say "we" or "us" on this page, we mean Bundle of Joy ApS.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to help you find the right name.
- Account info – your name and email address.
- Baby name preferences – origins, styles, vibes, and names you like or skip.
- Surname for matching – so we can check how names sound with your family name.
- Payment info – handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
What we don't collect
We don't collect photos, health data, or your location. We don't need any of that to suggest great names.
How we use your data
- Name curation – your preferences power our AI recommendations.
- Partner matching – we compare both partners' preferences to surface names you'll both love.
- Account management – so you can log in, manage your plan, and pick up where you left off.
Cookies
We use session cookies to keep you logged in. That's it. No tracking cookies. No third-party advertising cookies. No cookie banners that follow you around the internet.
Data retention
We keep your data for 30 days after your last session. After that, everything is deleted. Names, preferences, account info. Gone. If you want it deleted sooner, just ask.
Your rights
We're based in Denmark, so GDPR applies. You have the right to:
- Access your data and get a copy of it.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data at any time.
- Port your data to another service.
- Complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) if you think we've messed up.
To exercise any of these rights, email us. We'll respond within 30 days.
Third parties
We work with a small number of trusted services:
- Stripe – payment processing.
- Resend – transactional emails (password resets, receipts).
- Vercel – hosting.
None of these services have access to your name preferences. They each have their own privacy policies and are GDPR-compliant.
Children
Bundle of Joy is a service for adults who are expecting a baby. It's not designed for or directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Security
Your name preferences and personal data are encrypted at rest and in transit. We don't store preferences in plaintext. We use industry-standard security practices to keep your data safe.
