What is Bundle of Joy?

Bundle of Joy is an app for expecting parents to browse and curate names for their newborn – within seconds of signing up. The app takes in the parent’s preferences for the name, makes recommendations, and learns from the parent’s likes/dislikes as they browse through the recommendations, and tailors further recommendations.

Parents can indicate the baby’s gender, then choose 2 of the following options: indicate the name’s preferred origin/ religion (from 50+ options), theme (from 30+ options), name’s starting letter and name’s meaning. That’s it. They start getting gorgeous baby name recommendations for their unique preferences. They can modify these preferences at any point, and continue to get fresh recommendations for their taste.

Do I need a mobile app from Android or Apple store?

No, you can use Bundle of Joy with a web browser on your mobile.

If you’re on Android, open Bundle of Joy on your mobile browser, then tap Install and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you’re on Apple, open Bundle of Joy on your mobile browser. Once the website loads, tap the menu button (usually represented by three vertical dots) located in the top right corner of the browser. In the menu, scroll down and look for the “Add to Home screen” option. Tap on it and follow the on-screen insuctions.

Is it free to use?

Bundle of Joy has a free trial. No credit card required. During the trial period, you can generate up to 50 names as per your preferences. If you like the names you see, we hope you’d consider upgrading to a paid plan by purchasing one of the packs.

Is it an AI-based name generator?

Yes. We use AI to understand your preferences and taste, and make name recommendations that suit your taste well, so you don’t have to go through 1000s of names from 100s of websites.

So, Bundle of Joy is really just ChatGPT for baby names? I can simply use ChatGPT instead, right?

Yes, you may. But here’s a list of things you get only with Bundle of Joy.

With Bundle of Joy, you just need 3 clicks (to set up preferences) to start getting name recommendations. In ChatGPT, you have to create and iterate on different prompts before finding a prompt that works.
Recommended names are not repeated in Bundle of Joy, so you don’t see the same name multiple times. ChatGPT will repeat the names.
You can manage a shortlist of names within Bundle of Joy. With ChatGPT, you’re back to maintaining manual shortlists.
The biggest difference → With Bundle of Joy, you get notified when your Partner likes the same name as you did matches. Not in ChatGPT. You’ll miss this magical moment.

So, is it worth your time to use ChatGPT? Really up to you!

Shortlisting with a partner

What are partner matches?

This is the most fun aspect of Bundle of Joy. Think of it like Tinder, but for baby names. You and your partner log in to your respective accounts (YOU NEED SEPARATE ACCOUNTS), input your respective preferences, see name recommendations and start shortlisting names that you individually like. When you both happen to like the same name, the app informs you of a “Partner match”.

This is the aha moment many expecting couples wait for (when both of them happen to like the same name, which is not too often :D)

How do I connect my partner’s account?

Just go to the “Faves with Partner” section once you log in to the app. You will see clear instructions on how to connect with your partner’s account.

Can I use Bundle of Joy without a partner?

Yes, you can use Bundle of Joy just by yourself. There are no restrictions using it by yourself without a partner.

Free plans

Why are there Free plans?

As recent parents, this is the app my wife and I wish we had when we named our baby boy. Bundle of Joy is free to try out. As parents first ourselves, we want to first make sure you feel comfortable to try the product first before buying. Whenever you’re ready to buy, each paid plan is priced very affordably and comes with a very generous refund policy.

What is available as part of Free plan?

You can get up to 50 name recommendations. You can shortlist as many as you like from those names. Your partner can also use a free account to generate 50 name recommendations of their own. Any names that you both liked from your respective accounts will show up as Partner matches.

When you’ve used up the 50 free recommendations, you will need to buy one of our paid plans to generate new name recommendations.

What is a pack?

Once you’ve used the Free plan and you need more name suggestions, you can buy one of our packs. Each pack will allow you to generate upto a certain number of names. This is indicated as “Count of names” against each pack. For example, our lowest priced pack will allow you to generate up to 100 names.

What’s the count of names?

This is the maximum number of names you can generate per pack. For example, the lowest priced pack can generate up to 100 names for you.

Which pack should I buy?

Depends. Most parents are happy with the “225 names” pack. But please feel free to start with the “100 names” pack too.

Can I buy more than one pack?

Yes, you can buy more than one pack. You can buy as many as you need, whenever you need. But we restrict you from buying more than one pack at a time. This is to make sure you don’t buy more than what you need. If this is an inconvenience to you, please just write to us, and we can help you out.

I have my partner’s account connected. And I’ve bought a pack. How does this work now?

The count of names available from your pack is shared between you and your partner’s account. Assume you’ve bought a “225 names” pack, both you and your partner together can generate upto 225 names. When the count of names generated by the both of you exceeds 225, you will be asked to buy a new pack. At that point, either of you can buy a new pack, and continue to generate new name recommendations.

What is validity?

Each pack comes with a validity of 3 months from the date of purchase of the pack. You must use the pack to generate names before the validity period ends. If for some reason, you need to use a pack after the validity period has ended, please just write to us., and we can help you out.

How does gifting someone work?

Congrats, you’ve chosen to gift something that lasts a lifetime. When you want to gift someone a Bundle of Joy pack, you can choose from one of the options available here. Once you make the purchase, you will receive an email with the instructions on how to put your wonderful gift to use. Just copy-paste the voucher code and share it with the one you bought the gift for.

What is the validity for individual gift packs?

Each gift pack comes with a validity of 3 months from the date of purchase of the pack. Your gift recipient must use the pack to generate names before the validity period ends, they won’t be allowed to use the pack once this validity period is over. However, if for some unavoidable reason, your gift recipient needs to use a pack after the validity period has ended, please just write to us, and we may be able to help you out.

Can I buy more than 1 gift pack at a time?

Yes, you can. You will get a separate voucher code for each pack you’ve bought.

Corporate gifts

How does corporate gifting work?

Congrats, you’ve chosen to gift something that lasts a lifetime. When you’re ready to gift your employees Bundle of Joy packs, you can buy from this page. Once you make the purchase, you will receive an email with the instructions on how to put your wonderful gift to use. Just copy-paste the voucher code and share it with the employee(s) you bought the gift for. The email will contain a link dedicated to your purchase. You can come back to this link anytime, view all the packs you’ve bought, see which ones have been redeemed, and which ones haven’t been.

What is the validity for corporate gift packs?

Each gift pack comes with a validity of 12 months from the date of purchase of the pack. Your gift recipient must use the pack to generate names before the validity period ends, they won’t be allowed to use the pack once this validity period is over. However, if for some unavoidable reason, your gift recipient needs to use a pack after the validity period has ended, please just write to us, and we may be able to help you out.

Can I gift more than 1 pack at a time?
